What is best battery for ebike?
The best battery for e-bike is lithium-ion battery. Because Lithium-ion batteries for e-bikes offer high energy density, long cycle life, low self-discharge, and high power output. Compared to other types of batteries, lithium-ion batteries give us a better e-bike riding experience.
How long do e-bike batteries last?
KET's lithium ion e-bike batteries have a cycle life of 500-1000 cycles and will last roughly 3-5 years. As most e-bike batteries on the market have now switched to lithium ion batteries, our answer applies to most people's ebike batteries. Of course the lifespan will vary greatly from one type of battery to another. And your battery maintenance habits will also affect the life of your battery. I won't go into detail here. Can I put a different battery on my e-bike?
In general, KET does not recommend replacing your ebike battery. Instead KET advise you to source the same ebike battery from the original ebike battery manufacturer.

Professionally speaking, however, you can put a different battery on your e-bike. But there are some factors to consider:

1. Is the new battery compatible with your e-bike's electrical system?
2. Will the new battery size fit into your e-bike's battery compartment?
3. If the new battery has a higher voltage or capacity, can the motor of your e-bike handle the increased power?

If you can confirm that you have solved all of these problems, then you can put a different battery on your e-bike.
How to charge ebike battery without charger?
Charging an e-bike battery without a charger can be a challenge, as chargers are specifically designed to provide the correct voltage and current to the battery. And the charging characteristics of different types of batteries are generally different. But in an emergency situation, you can try several of these methods for charging your e-bike battery.

1. Universal laptop charger: If you find that your laptop charger connector matches your e-bike battery, then you can further check the parameter labels of both to confirm that the charging voltages are compatible. In case of compatibility you can try to charge the battery.
2. Power supply and voltage converter: You can also use a power supply and a voltage converter to charge your e-bike battery. This method requires matching the voltage and polarity of the power supply to the requirements of the battery and using a voltage converter to step up or down as required. However, this option can be somewhat complex to operate and requires a certain level of expertise.
3. Find a charging station or service centre: In an emergency, you can find a local e-bike charging station or service centre.

Please remember that the above methods are for emergency use. For safety reasons, KET always recommends that you use a dedicated charger to charge your e-bike battery
How many hours does an electric bike battery last?
To calculate the estimated duration an electric bike battery lasts, we'll use an example with a lithium-ion battery (very common ebike battery types) and consider the recommended depth of discharge (DOD) of 80%. We'll also consider the conversion between different units such as watt-hours (Wh), ampere-hours (Ah), and voltage (V).

Battery Capacity: The battery capacity is usually specified in ampere-hours (Ah) and can be converted to watt-hours (Wh) using the battery voltage.
Example: Let's assume the electric bike has a 10Ah battery with a voltage of 36V.

Battery capacity (Wh) = Battery capacity (Ah) * Voltage (V)
Battery capacity (Wh) = 10 Ah * 36 V = 360 Wh

To calculate the usable capacity of the battery considering the DoD:

Usable capacity (Wh) = Battery capacity (Wh) * DoD
Usable capacity (Wh) = 360 Wh * 0.8 = 288 Wh
Power Consumption: The power consumption of the electric bike can vary depending on factors like motor power, assist level, and terrain. Different bikes have different power consumption rates. As an example, let's assume the electric bike consumes an average of 250 watts.

Calculating Battery Life: We can use the battery capacity and power consumption to estimate the battery life.

Using time (in hours) = Usable capacity (Wh) / Power consumption (W)

Using the example values:

Using time = 288 Wh / 250 W = 1.15 hours

Therefore, the estimated battery using time for this example would be approximately 1.15 hours.

Please note that this is a rough estimate, and actual battery using time may vary depending on various factors such as terrain and riding style.
How to reset e-bike battery?
For most brands of bicycles, resetting the battery is relatively simple and can be done by following these general steps:

1. Turn off the ebike

2. Unplug the connector of ebike battery or remove the battery from the holder.

3. Once the battery has been disconnected, leave it in this state for a few minutes. This allows any remaining charge in the system to dissipate and helps to reset the battery's internal circuitry.

4. After a few minutes, reconnect the battery to the e-bike.

5. Turn on the e-bike and check that the battery is working properly.
